February. The longest, yet shortest month. Not quite spring, but oh so close – the groundhog DID predict an early spring! One thing February brings is L O V E. Love comes in many forms and there are several ways to find love at the market.
I recently asked Megan from The Pretty Pickle to put together a slow motion video of her art in process. Megan makes everything from necklaces and earrings, to bookmarks and keychains, all using botanical finds. Nature made wearable! She will have some very lovely heart shaped necklaces, perfect for the one who has your heart…or YOU! Be sure to stop by and see Megan on Sunday or check out her Etsy shop 🙂
Another way to show and share some love this Sunday? Bring a jar of peanut butter by the market table to a donation to Shepherd’s Corner, our local food pantry. Peanut butter makes THE perfect donation this time of year because it is packed with protein and very shelf stable. What’s not to love about that?
And we are three weeks away from our POP Club fundraiser, our Bean Feed! Held on February 29 at My Little Cupcake, all proceeds from the event will go toward another successful POP Club season. The POP Club provides educational activities for kids attending the market and also provides participants with tokens that can be used on fresh produce throughout the market season.
The Bean Feed will be a delicious offering from several of our market vendors: soup beans from South Texas BBQ Co, cornbread from Sew Kneaded, and desserts from My Little Cupcake. I did a little research and here’s some history from WVU on soup beans and their Appalachian roots – something we love here at the BFM!
So, grab some peanut butter, grab your sweetheart and meet us at the Bridgeport Conference Center this Sunday starting at 11. Until next month, Stay Fresh!
